At the first LTLL session, through the Traffic Light process, we identified two areas we really wanted to focus on. They were Focus 2: Teacher as Leader and Focus 6: Authentic Learning (student engagement).
There are two aspects to our plan.
1. We want all teachers to see themselves as educative leaders.
2. We want to create a climate of authenticity within classrooms.
Below is the plan for stage 1 of the LTLL process. It will take us through to the end of Term 2.

4th April 2011

10th May, 2011
In Week 3 of Term 2 our first educative leader, Pam Burke, delivered a P.D. presentation on authenticity within classrooms. The focus was technology and particularly multimodal literacies. Below is the presentation in flipchart and powerpoint format. Please have a look. You will be very impressed.

Hello Trundle! Thank you for sharing your powerpoint and flipchart, very impressed. How is the aunthentic learning progressing in your classrooms. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Simone Harding 8th June, 2011

Throughout our LTLL focus we have also been trying to link to other priorities in the school for 2011. Through the ICT days allocated to schools through the CEO our wonderful ICT teacher, Pam, has worked with the teachers with a focus on our LTLL project incorporating her focus of multimodal literacy. At our staff meeting on Tuesday Cathy Skinner presented a flipchart showing how she has implemented multimodal literacies into her classroom to engage her students in authentic learning. Cathy has had First Steps Mathematics as one of her focus areas in her classroom. Cathy used John Hattie as a reference. Click on the icon below to view Cathy's presentation.

20th July, 2011
Trish Cleal took us deeper into John Hattie's book, 'Visible Learning' to see what has actually been found to be effective in schools and classrooms and how we can follow the work of Hattie to provide our students with more authentic learning and how we can see ourselves as educative leaders. See Trish's presentation by clicking on the link below.
